Interested in Parkinson”s Disease – Follow Bill

in Healthcare

If you are in anyway interested in Parkinson’s Disease there’s a MUST READ author you should follow – Parky Bill

We’re involved in a research project targeting new ways of measuring the effect of Parkinson’s Disease on physical capabilities. The project is funded by the European Commission under Framework Programme 7 and those guys don’t hand out grants for trivial objectives, so that tells us this is a big deal.

The fact is this is a serious degenerative disease impacting millions of sufferers around the world and, worryingly, research organisations can’t identity the cause. Even the pharmaceutical companies are struggling to come up with treatments which offer long term relief from the symptoms. We will be doing our bit to try and help those guys understand a little more. Reading Parky Bill will be enormously helpful for us. And a lot of fun too.

You’ll have noticed the Internet is full of pages relating to the disease but few of them actually inform. Most of them just use the subject to attract views of adverts. Bill is different.

He’s a sufferer, and tells his story with a wit which engages much more than all the other stuff we find filling our Google Reader.

To sample Bill’s work read Sarah Palin: Full of Sound and Fury and Signifying Nothing

Even if you don’t agree with the politics you’ll admire and enjoy the craft.

This “Parky Bill” fellow you mention is a charlatan and a miscreant who should never be allowed anywhere near a computer. That fact that I am Parky Bill doesn't even enter the equation. I should be stopped and the sooner the better. (Thanks for the nice words!)

Richly deserved Bill.

I'm hoping it won't be long before there's something I can share about our project – we're stuck in the paper work at the moment.

Meantime I'm collecting content as a research resource for when we start the exploitation planning.
